E-commerce mobile application
A React Native application talking to a Laravel API over REST, with the interface shipped in four languages and full right-to-left layout in Arabic.

The problem
A commerce platform that reaches its customers only through a browser loses the part of the day when people actually buy: standing somewhere, on a phone, with one hand free. The application has to work in the customer's language, and for a large share of that audience the language reads right to left.
How it works
The application is React Native against a Laravel API, using REST with Axios. Authentication is by mobile number and password, issuing a token that the client stores and refreshes. Customer accounts, products, categories, orders, wallets and digital vouchers all come from that API, and several stores are supported.
The interface ships in English, Arabic, French and Portuguese, with right-to-left layout for Arabic. This is one reason the NextWR website is itself fully right-to-left in Arabic: a company that ships RTL products has no excuse for a site that does not.
Wallets and vouchers
Wallets are multi-currency, and digital vouchers are part of the same commerce platform. Both are described generically here: individual currencies are a deployment matter and are not named.
Architecture
One API, several clients
The application reads the same API as the web platform, so a rule that changes is changed once.
Token authentication on a mobile number
Sign-in by mobile number and password fits an audience that does not always have an email address in daily use.
RTL as layout, not translation
Right-to-left is a layout property carried by the component system, so Arabic mirrors rather than being patched screen by screen.
